6. Replace incandescent lights with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). Compact fluorescent lamps can save three-quartersof the electricity used by incandescent lamps. During the life span of a CFL, it uses about $22 in electricity. Incandescent bulbs do not last nearly as long as their counterparts. You would need ten incandescent bulbs to equal the life span of a CFL. These ten bulbs will cost you more than $80 in electricity. You would basically be cutting electricity prices in that area down by almost $60. 7. As a rule of thumb, purchase one refrigerator that will be of adequate size to encompass all your refrigeration needs. |
